Vaginal Enhancement Surgical Procedures

Vaginal Plastic Surgery

Many women are enjoying the benefits of cosmetic enhancement surgery to the vaginal part of their bodies. There are three procedures to treat different problems and each has its reason for being just as the patients who each have their own reason for requesting treatment. It can be a sensitive topic but a good surgeon will proceed with discretion.

The first procedure is to fix a problem that might cause embarrassment and self image issues for a woman. However, the asymmetrical structure of a woman's labia is actually very common. In some cases, excessively enlarged labia can cause discomfort. This is where labiaplasty comes in as an option for any woman who would like to see their private parts sculpted to their ideal size and symmetry.

Vaginoplasty differs greatly from labiaplasty in that it is the reconstruction of skin and muscle tissue that makes up the vagina. This procedure is usually for women who have experienced multiple births and the stretching has caused the muscles the inability to return to its natural tightness.

The final procedure is just as cosmetic as the previous two and is usually requested for religious for cultural reasons. Hymenoplasty is the reattachment of a woman's hymen, the tissue that is often associated with being a virgin. The common association is that the hymen is broken during initial intercourse but it can also break during sports, falling, or other physical activities.

Since the area of interest in these procedures are called private parts for a reason, most good surgeons will do a good job in practicing confidentiality and discretion about the procedure. It is important to note, however, that the rise in popularity of such procedures is a direct result of the treatment becoming more accepted in mainstream society.
