How to Get Rid of Vaginal Discharge and Fishy Odor

Vaginal Discharge

Most women feel very reluctant to discuss problems associated with their private parts. Some of the common problems are vaginal discharge and fishy odor emanating from the vagina. They feel embarrassed and frustrated but then prefer to cringe away from the problem. But the point is, if you are not kind to your body and respect its needs, no one will.

Such problems can arise due to various reasons. Vaginal discharge and fishy odor from vagina can be the results of sexually transmitted diseases which need clinical attention immediately. Consult a doctor to know more about the origin of such symptoms. Apart from that there are some home remedies which you can know and implement if you feel too shy to discuss these problems with anyone.

Place garlic

At home you may take a piece of garlic and place it in the vagina. The strong smell of garlic can very effectively drive out the stinking odor coming out of your vagina to quite an extent.

Drenching with water

To get rid of vaginal discharge and fishy odor from the vagina, try the technique of drenching that affected area with water for at least twice or thrice in a day. Do not apply soap vigorously; it can increase the infection by changing the ph of the area. The acidic environment of the vagina can get affected by a soap which is mainly basic in nature. So just wash the area with fresh water properly without the use of soap.

Vinegar in water mixture

To exempt you from the obnoxious stench and discharge from the vagina u can use a mixture of vinegar in water. Put a cup or two of vinegar in your bathing water in a bucket. It is a quality mixture in reducing the infection causing the vaginal discharge and fishy odor. Try it for 2to 3 days and you will notice a considerable reduction in discharge and fishy odor from the vagina.

Yoghurt

With a tampon you can slowly apply plain yoghurt in the affected area to find relief from vaginal discharge and fishy odor. In case you do not want to apply it then eating the yoghurt will also be helpful in reducing the problem. You may go for any flavor in this case.

Nutrition

At times bacterial vaginosis, which is the cause of such symptoms, may occur due to lack of certain vitamins. Supplement vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) in your diet. Consume as much citrus fruits as possible because they are good sources of vitamin C. Also include vegetables in your diet to reduce the problem. It may happen that these simple remedies may not work. In that case without further delay you should consult your gynecologist to know more about the disease and its treatment before it gets too late.
